There are three premium packages that are a bundle of the stand alone options. The package prices are slightly different between the 128i Coupe and the 135i Coupe.

The first official word on the 2008 BMW 128i convertible was announced on September 30, 2007. BMW USA issued a press release indicating that the 128i convertible will be available in Spring of 2008 and the 135i convertible in the Fall of 2008. The 128i Convertible, which joins the new 1 Series Coupe going on sale in the spring of 2008, will be powered by BMW's 3.0-liter, 230 horsepower inline six-cylinder engine generating 200 lb-ft of torque. Like the 128i Coupe, the 128i Convertible will feature Valvetronic valvetrain management and aluminum/magnesium cylinder block construction--core elements of BMW's Efficient Dynamics. We first reported that there were spy photos posted around the Internet on the 1 Series convertible. This was the original photo that we saw: BMW 1 Series convertible, which turned out to be true.
BMW 1 Series Targeted for Spring 2008When we visited the BMW North America website on July 17, 2007 the home page had a new flash slideshow comparing the new 1 Series to the BMW 2002 which was released in 1968. Seeing the image of the 1968 2002 was cool but what was even better was an indication when the 1 Series will be in US showrooms. Look carefully at the image below:
Spring of 2008 is the target which makes the wait not be as long as some thought. On June 30, 2007 BMW announced a new line of BMW vehicles for the United States market. The 2008 128i and 2008 135i will be arriving next year but we have an idea that the two cars will be just the start of a very successful line of cars for the US market. The 128i and 135i will be released as 2 door coupes so when they arrive they could be labeled 128ic and 135ic.
